About Jason B. Whittier

Jason B. Whittier is a writer and teacher in Massachusetts, where he resides with his wife and seven children. He enjoys travelling, gardening, learning languages, watching movies, and of course, writing in between all his kids’ activities.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in German with minors in History and Slavic Studies from West Virginia University. While working on his Master of Arts degree in German Studies at the University of Georgia, Jason fell in love with teaching and began screenwriting. After completing his Master’s, Jason and his family moved to Michigan for a couple of years to teach middle and high school German. While in Michigan, Jason wrote and produced a feature horror film entitled “Waterfront Nightmare”. Shortly later, Jason co-wrote and co-produced a psychological thriller in the Berkshires entitled “The Secret Village”.

In 2012, Jason and his family moved back to Massachusetts. He continued pursuing his screenwriting career while teaching middle school German on the North Shore. Over a couple of years, he optioned four screenplays to different producers. Unfortunately, those projects never moved out of development. Jason then wrote, produced, and directed three short films. After leaving education to work as an insurance agent, Jason completed a second Master of Arts degree in education from Arizona State University.

For the last several years, Jason has been an ESL middle school teacher and an ESL adult education instructor at a local community college. He continues to write screenplays and most recently completed his debut Young Adult novel entitled “Forbidden Woods – Adventures in Norlandis”.
